Regional Trainer – MP Sourced

This is a Contract position in Toronto, ON posted January 27, 2025.

Our client is looking for Regional Trainer for short term assignment.

The candidates must be able to clear extensive backcheck and has full driver’s license.
 
Position Summary: We are searching for Regional Trainers to provide in-person training sessions to those who are supporting the 2025 General Election in Ontario. Regional Trainers will be required to attend a 3-day training session from February 10th to February 12th. Following the 3-day training session, Regional Trainers will begin to train the key staff at various locations throughout the province from February 18th to February 23rd and will provide support at their assigned location through March 1st. 
Responsibilities: 
 

  • Plans for classroom, scenario and lecture-based training sessions for key returning office staff using the training material to train the office & field staff. 
  • Uses training tools effectively to complement the material: 
  • Runs lecture and scenario-based classes 
  • Evaluates information retention of students and advises the Key Personnel of any class attendees experiencing difficulty with the concepts and processes 
  • Evaluates the training approach and materials used, and provides feedback to the Key Personnel on the suitability for the various targeted audiences 
  • Documents and reports all anomalies and issues encountered for all hardware and software products and/or any training deficiencies identified.

  • Provide Election Support and setup, Logic & Accuracy Testing throughout Advance Vote period. 
  • Election Support and setup for Polling Day. 
  • Post-Election L&A Testing Support; for the General Elections
  • Adheres to all local, provincial, and federal rules and regulations that pertain to the operation of election systems. 
  • Maintain a positive rapport with election officials, poll workers, customer staff. Qualifications: 
    • Proven track record of conducting successful training sessions. 
    • Experience training on customized software and hardware technology products. 
    • Ability to lead training sessions to varying skill levels and number of participants. 
    • Adult education/training experience is preferred. 
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Bilingual (English and French) is a plus but not required. The training program is delivered in English, but some participants may speak French. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 
    • Ability to operate computers and audio-visual equipment. 
    • Ability to travel to the applicable training location on the day prior to the start of such training program to assist with set-up and ability to work the full training schedule. 
    • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to absorb a great deal of information in a short period of time. 
    • Ability to travel across the Province of Ontario to deliver training sessions. 
    • Must have a valid driver’s license. 

     
    Physical Demands: 
    Equal amounts of time spent walking/standing, pulling/pushing, sitting and lifting. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. This position can travel up to 100% of the time.
