Manpower

This is a Contract position in Vaughan, ON posted January 13, 2025.

What’s the Job?

Shift: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $40 to $50 per hour

Driving Requirement: Yes, 25%; Personal Vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage (Sub) Commodities cross-business or for one business, fostering cross-functional alignment.
  • Coordinate and manage a virtual/line management team to achieve optimum conditions and savings.
  • Define (Sub) Commodity structure, organization, and strategy; develop and implement material productivity measures.
  • Communicate strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials.
  • Negotiate frame contracts; document contracts in relevant IT systems.
  • Forward Procurement-related project information to keep participants up to date.
  • Identify procurement risks and opportunities; manage them effectively.
  • Perform Supplier Management to ensure an optimum supply chain.
  • Ensure supply of materials based on customer requirements at the lowest price while ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
  • Implement commodity strategies and cost reduction measures.
  • Analyze demands, monitor markets, and review suppliers to decide on the best sourcing strategy.
  • Conduct market analyses to obtain new suppliers and technologies.
  • Prepare and conduct negotiations for medium to high purchasing volumes.
  • Generate, document, and implement savings; report on relevant KPIs.
  • Support projects to provide optimum input for quotes and realization of potential savings.
  • Travel between the Concord and Peterborough facilities as required. Hybrid role.

Required Skills:

  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of achieving cost savings.
  • Experience in supplier development, evaluation, and management.
  • Analytical skills for market trend analysis and supplier performance review.
  • Project management experience with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Risk management experience and knowledge of risk and change management practices.
  • Technical knowledge of procurement processes and commodity strategies.
  • Experience in implementing cost reduction measures and achieving target costs.
  • Ability to provide benchmarking information on component and system costs.
  • Willingness to travel and experience in hybrid work environments.
