The Art Director’s currency is inventiveness, hard work and enthusiasm. What we most need from the Art Director (and their Copywriter partner) is a large volume of design directions and ideas, quickly, that are connected to culture and surprise us with the new and the different. The Art Director is eager, positive and willing to learn from everyone around them.

When it comes to craft, the Art Director is not only fluent in leading design teams to their vision, but they also have a solid amount of production experience under their belt. They are comfortable presenting their ideas to client teams, as well as leading production partners to support their work.

The work:

  • Provide art direction, style and tone for brand and content campaigns across all channels

  • Develop a range of ideas in a short amount of time and refine and self-edit work along the way

  • Knows how to package up their ideas in ways that are clear, concise and buyable

  • Can think in platforms and think beyond traditional advertising solutions

  • Is a student of creative trends and best practices in advertising, culture, media and social.

  • Brings other interests and knowledge to the job (filmmakers, influencers, designers, etc…)

  • Pull visual references and create comps quickly to translate ideas into compelling client presentations

  • Begins to contribute to all facets of productions

  • Work with all disciplines to deliver projects of creative excellence on time

  • Can take feedback and incorporate it

  • Begins to understand the needs of clients and clients’ business

  • Is willing to help out with whatever is asked of them, with a good attitude

  • Is an accountable partner and collaborator
