Fire Alarm Technician Assistant

Our client, a leader in fire safety solutions, is seeking a Technical Assistant – Fire System to join their team. 

Job Title: Technical Assistant – Fire System/ Fire Alarm Inspector Assistant

Location: Ottawa, ON
Pay Range: $18 – $25/hr depending on experience
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm

What’s the Job?

• Assist a Senior Technician with on-site preventative maintenance inspections.
• Help perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on various Fire Safety Systems.
• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections of Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lighting Systems, and Fire Hoses.
• Support other technicians as needed during technical maintenance tasks.
• Drive locally to different job sites within a few hours of Ottawa.

What’s Needed?

• Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50 lbs and climb ladders or scaffolding.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Competency with computers and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A valid and in good standing Class G motor vehicle license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to read and understand engineered drawings, specifications, and service manuals is preferred.
