We are currently seeking candidates who are qualified for the role of Tool Maker. The role of Tool Maker reports to the Manufacturing Manager. Liburdi Turbine Services offers competitive wages including shift premiums.
We have the following vacancies to fill immediately:
2nd Shift (1 opening) (Monday to Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am) + $1 shift premium
Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Manufacture new tooling, repair and maintain existing tools to support production activity and customer deadlines.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions in order to program, setup, and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools to produce tight tolerances tolling parts to specifications.
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
- Compute dimensions and tolerances, measure and lay out tooling work pieces to ensure machining activities result in products conforming to all requirements outlined in drawings and work instructions issued.
- Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances utilizing different verification tools including calipers, micrometers, sizing blocks and/or gauges.
- Operate and maintain a variety of conventional and CNC machine tools, e.g. boring machines, milling machines, lathes, sawing machines, automatic lathes, and/or drilling machines, as required
- Support new project tooling from commissioning stages through to start of production.
- Record all relevant data in relation to tolling and record on the Tool Room database.
- Within the scope of the job requirements, will be required to adhere and comply with the Liburdi ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies, Safety and Environmental Regulations.

- Capable of performing within tight tolerances (+/-0.0005”)

- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and work standards
Key Experience/Education:
- 3-5 years of experience building new tooling required
- Tool and Die Trade Certificate required
- Experience operating CNC and EDM Machines is an asset
- Experience in implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and understanding of 5S principles is an asset
- Certificate of qualification as a General Machinist or Tool and Die Maker is an asset
