Liburdi Turbine Services provides mechanical and metallurgical engineering services specifically tailored for the gas turbine industry. This allows us to perform an independent analysis of problems and, where required, to modify or redesign components. We are currently seeking candidates who are qualified for the role of Paint Spray Operator. The role of Paint Spray Operator reports to the Manufacturing Manager. Liburdi Turbine Services offers competitive wages including shift premiums.
We have the following vacancies to fill immediately:
Day shift (1 opening) (Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm)
2nd Shift (1 opening) (Monday to Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am) + $1 shift premium
3rd Shift (1 opening) (Sunday to Friday 11:00pm-7:00am) + $1.50 shift premium
Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for setting up all coating jobs including material handling, mixing, equipment maintenance and cleanup.
- Read and interpret standard work instructions, drawings, customer specifications, manufacturer’s technical data sheets.
- Prepare and mask metal parts for coating as required.
- Verify part cleanliness and prepare or clean surfaces as required prior to coating. (i.e. cleaning, sanding, etc)
- Mix and spray high performance coatings in accordance with manufacturers and customer specifications.
- Perform paint thickness testing. Run required test coupons.
- Perform inspection and testing as needed to verify part compliance to customer requirements.
- Use inspection gauges and equipment to check work.
- Operate auxiliary machines or equipment used in coating or painting.
- Assist teammates in other nearby functional areas when required.
- Communicate with supervisor on daily schedule requirements.
- Identify proper paint mixing and application techniques.
- Understand impact of different fluid tips, mixing ratios, and spray pressure may have on finishes.
- Be able to provide information to order and maintain appropriate inventory of supplies to meet schedule.
- Fill out required process documentation and all paint records including but not limited to: batch logs, traveler paperwork and record data on thickness inspection forms.
- Assist with storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous paint waste as required.
- Perform and document any rework operations when applicable.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safety.
- Maintains 5S Standards, clean, well-organized work area while performing all assigned tasks in a manner consistent with company safety/environmental regulations.

- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook and Excel)
Key Experience/Education:
- Minimum high school diploma required
- 3 – 5 years of hands on painting experience is preferred
- Experience using a spray gun (ie. Conventional, pressure pot, HVLP, airless, air brush, etc.) is required
- Experience using equipment such as ultrasonic thickness gauge, paint shaker, mixer, abrasive grit blaster, drying oven, etc. is required
- Experience in the Aerospace or Auto body industry is an asset
- Experience with the following processes is an asset: chemical cleaning, abrasive surface prep, masking, spray high performance coating
- Experience with robotic spray systems is an asset
Physical Activity Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 35lbs
- Stand while working in the spray booth
- Perform repetitive hand motions
- Prolonged standing, bending, and lifting is required
- Ability to work with exposure to fumes
