Liburdi Turbine Services provides mechanical and metallurgical engineering services specifically tailored for the gas turbine industry. This allows us to perform an independent analysis of problems and, where required, to modify or redesign components. Our expertise lies in the fields of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, stress analysis, metallurgy and mechanical design as they apply to aircraft and land based gas turbines. We are currently seeking candidates who are qualified for the role of NDT Inspector II. The role of NDT Inspector II reports to the Manufacturing Manager. Liburdi Turbine Services offers competitive wages including shift premiums.

We have the following vacancies to fill immediately:

Day shift (1 opening) (Monday to Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm)

2nd Shift (2 openings) (Monday to Friday 3:30pm – 12:00am) + $1 shift premium

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Liquid penetrant inspections (LPI)
  • Radiographic testing (RT) – X-Ray Conventional Film and Digital
  • Ultrasonic thickness testing (UT)
  • Sample preparation
  • Interpretation of NDE specifications
  • Disposition of materials in writing
  • Visual, non-destructive and dimensional inspections (vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators etc.)
  • Quality assurance testing and reporting
  • Tracking material status
  • Performing other testing requirements during various states of the repair process
  • Working to defined standards and methodologies
  • Applying test criteria

Key Skill Requirements:

  • Excellent visual accuracy skills
  • Strong Inter-personal and inter-departmental communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
  • Understanding of engineering specifications, drawings and written reports
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively follow health & safety and quality processes and policies

Key Experience/Education:

  • Graduate of a 2 year college level program in Mechanical Engineering Tech – NDE or similar program an asset
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in NDE is required
  • Level II Certification (CGSB/ASNT) is required or sufficient background enabling the attainment of certification required. NAS410 qualification an asset.
  • Interest/experience in the nuclear or aerospace industry preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO quality system an asset
  • X Ray inspections is an asset
