Why is this role important :

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Merchant to join our Super Market Merchandising team. This entry-level role provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of retail, working closely with experienced merchants to drive sales and curate a compelling product assortment for our customers.

What you'll do:

  • Support Category Analysis: Assist in analyzing category performance, identifying trends, and researching competitor activity.
  • Financial Tracking & Analysis: Manage the financial activity of the category including managing vendor income billings, conducting analysis, and collaborating with Merchant(s), vendor(s) and finance team to investigate and resolve income inquiries.
  • Manage & resolve store inquires
  • Product Assortment Maintenance: Assist with product onboarding, sample management, planogram submissions, and maintaining accurate product information.
  • Pricing & Promotion Execution: Support the execution of pricing and promotional strategies, ensuring accuracy and timely implementation, including data-entry, data-integrity management, flyer/digital/instore advertising accuracy, vendor income collection, inventory management, store communications and retail pricing.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Assist with communication and coordination with vendors, including order tracking and issue resolution.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and other key metrics, identifying opportunities and risks.

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.

  • Strong interest in retail and a passion for merchandising

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent collaborator and team player
