What Is The Opportunity?
Aecon is currently seeking an Systems Assurance Manager to join the GO Rail Expansion (RER) project, located at 130 Adelaide St, Toronto. This transformational project is the largest capital infrastructure project in Ontarios historic GO Rail Expansion program!
What You Will Do Here:
- Manage a team responsible for design requirements, configuration changes and interfaces.
- The Requirement Management team is responsible for managing all the requirements coming from different sources, to allocate them to the designers, to discuss them and agreeing the allocation with the designers and manage the IBM DOORS database.
- The Configuration Change Management team is responsible for managing all the changes in the design proposed by the client from different sources, to get the impact analysis from the affected teams, to agree them with the partners, to present them to the client for its final approval.
- The Interface Management team is responsible for managing the internal and external interfaces. The internal interfaces are between the partners, and the external interfaces are through the client. All the interfaces need to be discussed and agreed to reflect them in a document, which will be used in the design.
- Coordinate with other design and construction teams to be aligned and to get the inputs from several teams.
- Forecast and track the scope changes.
- Track the team progress to ensure the design milestones are met.
- Identify project milestones and adjustment to schedules.
- Assist and monitor statistics as required.
- Provide status and progress reports to project team, and management.
- Write and review purchase specifications and subcontract documents.
- Provide estimating and project management back-up as required.
- Develop and write reports and business correspondence.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager.

What You Bring To The Team:
- Completion of a diploma or degree in Engineering, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of industrial experience in a construction environment.
- 5 years of active experience in rail transit projects.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- The position is required to become familiar with the Project Agreement, and all other relevant contractual agreements related to the scope of responsibilities.
- Must have a good understanding of project management concepts and practices. Ability to plan, conduct, co-ordinate and execute projects associated with the development, implementation, and maintenance of assurance activities.
- Knowledge of current office automation technology, PC hardware/software and relevant application.
- Knowledge of end user support functions and data security/audit principles and procedures.
- Must possess sound judgement, highly developed interpersonal skills, well developed organizational, analytical, problem solving, and oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as to co-ordinate efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
