You Are:
Hands-on operational management with a focus on "as-code" practices, ensuring platform availability, capacity planning, and driving collaboration through forums and communities of practice within an agile framework.
Work You Will Do:
Accenture Infrastructure Services professionals work as part of diverse teams with deep skillsets to advise and operate client systems in partnership with industry partners. As part of the Infrastructure Managed Services Practice, you will lead and mentor a Network Operations team of between five to ten staff members with various skill sets and needs. As the overall team lead, you will be responsible for advising your client counterpart assisting in the prioritization of work, projects, and incoming requests from across the organization. In your capacity of subject matter expert, you will keep abreast of new and emerging technologies and advise on best practices within the architecture being supported.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Roadmap and Strategic Management:
- Develop and maintain the AAP roadmap, aligning it with organizational objectives and stakeholders' needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and our automation adoption team to prioritize features and enhancements to maximize the platform's value.
Design and Architecture Oversight:
- Ensure the design and architecture of the AAP meet security, scalability, and reliability standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align platform architecture with organizational IT strategies.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor, administer, and manage AAP components, ensuring day-to-day operational efficiency.
- Maintain AAP global credentials and ensure the dynamic inventory is up-to-date with Azure, AWS subscriptions, and vCenter environments.
- Participate in change and incident management processes to ensure seamless communication and resolution.
- Serve as the final level of support for escalated critical issues, addressing them promptly in accordance with established incident management processes.
- Conduct proactive maintenance, including patching, upgrades, and security compliance.
Leadership in Collaboration and Forums:
- Participate in and contribute to the Automation Center of Excellence, driving the adoption of automation best practices and alignment with strategic goals.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business units to ensure effective communication and alignment.
Platform Availability and Capacity Planning:
- Ensure the platform’s high availability and reliability through effective capacity planning and resource optimization.
- Analyze managed node requirements and job concurrency to provide recommendations for efficient resource utilization.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Monitor platform health and performance, addressing alerts and managing job success rates.
- Administer the platform, ensuring all components are functioning as expected.
- Escalate issues to Red Hat support as needed.
- Update and maintain platform inventories dynamically across cloud and virtual environments.
Weekly and Monthly Reporting:
- Conduct status updates with stakeholders to report on platform performance, capacity, and operational metrics.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports summarizing achievements, operational metrics, and improvement areas.
Proactive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement:
- Perform scheduled maintenance, including OS and platform upgrades, following Red Hat recommendations.
- Identify and document opportunities for platform improvements and enhanced automation capabilities.
- Support business continuity planning and disaster recovery readiness.
- Develop automation for backend processes like failover and backup restorations.
Capacity Planning and Optimization:
- Assess the platform environment to identify opportunities for capacity optimization.
- Maintain a robust capacity planning process, ensuring the platform supports current and future workloads effectively.
