ONxpress Transportation Partners has been selected by Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx to lead the charge in modernizing rail service across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Areas with the On-Corridor Works project. We're on a mission to make GO trains faster, greener, and more efficient than ever before.

You are someone who:
Manages daily labour relations activities and provide guidance to management and project teams Keep up to date register of all active Collective Agreements (CAs) in use across all ONxpress operations.
Monitors end dates to the CAs and collect feedback from operations to be used in collective bargaining.
Reads, understands and provides counsel regarding interpretation and application of CAs with regard to various labour matters (e.g. discipline procedures, performance, attendance management, etc.)
Builds and maintains contacts at various contractor associations across Canada. (E.g. MCAO, ECAO, etc.)
Actively build and maintain harmonious Union / Management relations. (e.g. Union contact lists, etc.)
Designs and implements training for management and operations staff. (e.g. Collective Agreement training, progressive discipline, strategic grievance handling, arbitration handling, employment standards, human rights, etc.)
Works with operations and union management to resolve Labour Relations issues / conflict. (e.g. Grievances, Arbitrations, Sector / Jurisdictional disputes, workforce shortages, referrals, etc.)
Assists operations in developing Project Labour Agreements (PLAs) and other site-specific LR planning.
Works with various Proposals and Estimating groups across ONxpress o provide support during pursuits (e.g. application of Collective Agreements, Union enabling efforts, PLAs, Rate tables etc.)
Assists operations in other Labour Relations environments (e.g. Non-Union, CLAC, etc.)
Monitors legislation and regulations affecting Labour and Employment and advise management on new developments.
You bring:
Post-secondary school education in Human Resources/Law/ and/or Labour Relations; or acceptable combination of education and previous experience
Minimum 7+ years working experience in construction environment.
Good understanding and working knowledge of Building Trades, CLAC and Non-Union labour within the construction industry.
Excellent Computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
