About Us
As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
What's the Opportunity?
The Human Resources Administrator reports to the Manager, Human Resources and is responsible for effective human resources support on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP).
This will be a 19 Months Contract
What Youll Do Here:
- Provide coaching and assistance to Employees and Managers through different processes of human resource management including, absence management (disability leave, paternal leave, unpaid holidays), timesheet administration labour relations, performance management, discipline etc.
- Owns the project on-boarding process, ensuring all new employees have the proper equipment and access for their first day, including IT setup, project hire announcements, HR Orientation & Project Orientation delivery
- Investigate and answer employee questions associated with pay and benefits and DNNP and Home Company policies and programs
- Ensure all employee change paperwork is completed
- Manage employee departures, including collecting and tracking all necessary equipment, ensuring it is returned
- Manage employee lists, including administration and tracking of project Assignment Letters for all employees assigned to DNNP. Includes determining all necessary details for all new project staff, project transfers and all moves relating to project transitions.
- Participates in the development of employee engagement activities necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation
- Assist in the administration of project Living Out Allowance process as per Travel & Per Diem Policy, including tracking and collecting all necessary forms and supporting documentation.
- Supports Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) communications internally.
- All other duties as required
What You Bring to the Team:
- Diploma or relevant experience
- 1-3 years of relevant Human Resources administration experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent client service/management, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills using MS Office Products (Word/Excel/Visio/PowerPoint)
- An analytical mind with problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- A team player with leadership skills
- Must be able to deal with sensitive issues in a confidential manner
- Problem solving, planning and organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, work to timelines
