Public Works Labourer Landfill Site Attendant

Our client in Greenbush ON is looking for a Public Works Labourer and Landfill Site Attendant for a minimum of three months.  This position will provide support to the Public Works Dept providing customer Service and Support at the Greenbush Landfill site. 

Rate of pay:18.93

Some duties include?

• Engage in a variety of outdoor tasks including snow removal, road and sidewalk repair
• Greet the public in a orderly manner and communicat the landfill programs effectively and tactfully.
• Direct public to appropriate disposal areas
• Monitor recycling/ garbae quantities and ensure that the refuse is from residents f the Township
• Collect and organize tickets, ensuring fees are paid

What you bring to the job?

• Ability to clear a back ground check
• Valid G license and reliable vehicle
• Grade 12 diploma 
• Preference will be given to those with knowledge of municipal public works operations, including waste management
• excellent communication, interpersonal and public relation skills together with the ability to use tact and discretion dealing with public and fellow staff memebers.  
• ability to follow instructions with mechanical aptitude and dexterity
• Ability to lift and carry between 50 lbs
