About Us

The Shoreline Power Group is a fully integrated Joint Venture of Aecon, United and AtkinsRalis located in Kincardine, Ontario. Shoreline Power Group is the centerpiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program which replaces the main components of 6 reactors at the Bruce Power Nuclear Generating Station. The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes, pressure tubes, and feeders as well as construction management and trade labor. This project is part of Bruce Powers Life Extension Program, which will allow Bruce Powers CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Correction Actions & Root Cause Analysis Specialist will be responsible for managing Shorelines Corrective & Preventative Action program and act as the Root-Cause Analysis Specialist. The Corrective Action Specialist, as required, is responsible for initiating Corrective Action Reports and leading efforts to ensure that the required actions are implemented and effective.

What You'll Do Here

  • Manage Projects Corrective Action Program
  • Initiate Corrective/Preventative Action Reports when requested by any Projects employee
  • Enter Corrective/Preventative Action Reports into the CAR database
  • Manage and track the progress of Corrective Action Reports (CAR) to ensure timely completion
  • Perform follow-up of the corrective/preventive actions to verify their effectiveness
  • Participate as required with the management Review Board
  • Provide leadership in root-cause analysis investigation
  • Works with Projects departmental managers and delegates in identifying areas of improvement
  • Manage and track the progress of root-cause analysis (RCA) to ensure timely completion
  • Provide training to RCA team members as required
  • Responsible for assisting in managing all aspects of the RCA
  • Participate in Management Review Boards as required
  • Develop Casual Analyses Evaluations
  • Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives
  • Oversees Trending of Corrective Actions, Nonconformances, Overage-Shortage-Damages (OS&D), etc.
  • Mentor and coach project team members in the use of RCA tools, techniques, nuclear safety culture, etc.
  • Develops and facilitates projects to identify and improve project quality
  • Drive cultural change to instill focus on fact-based management practices and other problem solving methodologies
  • Maintain proficiency in Root Cause Analysis
  • Performing root-cause analysis and maintain a participation log
  • Attending training programs specifically related to root-cause analysis
  • Demonstrate management of the Corrective/Preventive Action process
  • Demonstrate management of the RCA process

What You Bring To The Team

  • Graduate of Quality Management Program or equivalent at the college or university level
  • Qualification as a Lead Auditor/Auditor would be an asset
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in root-cause analysis would be an asset
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Action-oriented with the ability to deliver timely results
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, oral and written presentation skills
  • Experience leading teams to successful results
  • Knowledge of Aecons Quality Programs would be an asset
  • Quality Engineering or Six Sigma experience or accreditation would be an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with Power BI tools
