Liburdi Turbine Services provides mechanical and metallurgical engineering services specifically tailored for the gas turbine industry. This allows us to perform an independent analysis of problems and, where required, to modify or redesign components. Our expertise lies in the fields of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, stress analysis, metallurgy and mechanical design as they apply to aircraft and land based gas turbines. The company offers firm opportunities for career growth in an attractive but yet challenging technical environment. We are currently seeking candidates who are qualified for the role of Materials Technologist.

Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):

  • Preparation and analysis of metallurgical samples (sectioning, mounting, polishing and chemical etching)
  • Performing mechanical tests
  • Performing component condition assessments
  • Executing experiments/trials in our laboratory and manufacturing facility
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Report writing

Key Skill Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook and Excel specifically)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have strong work ethic and have the ability to multi-task

Key Education Requirements:

  • College level education is required in a metallurgical/materials technology program
  • 3-5 years of experience in a metallurgical laboratory
  • Experience with optical microscopy (microstructural characterization) is required
  • Experience with data collection and analysis in Microsoft Excel is required
  • Experience with report writing in Microsoft Word
